Has anyone seen any steelhead running in the creeks yet? I have yet to see one at bronte, maybe im not looking hard enough :p

its hard to see bows in rivers they tend to blend in really good, unless there is a whole school of them moving up.Small numbers are in but nothing big yet.I start getting them in mid november october if i get a lucky

hi its beef yes i saw a few here and there while walking along wilmot also saw a few at the ganny yesterday but had no luck but landed two browns 14 to 18 inches both males good luck and tightlines

alright sweet i guess i have to just keep checking it out then eh!
I really want to catch my first legit steelhead! all the trout i have caught on the fly have been resi's

I've seen a few here and there mixed in with salmon. But I wouldn't worry about it now.

You'll have all of November to catch Steelhead

lost one today around 6-7lbs around 1pm upstream in bowmanville, fly fishing reel was set too tight for mighty salmon....

Hmmm, steelhead can put a lot of energy into their fights. Good reminder for the rest of the season.

i cant wait to land my first steelhead!...well... can wait to land anything from the river  i wish u guys the best of luck!

Yeah im hoping to catch one on the fly rod also, strictly been using the fly rod since the salmon started running. I dont think ill ever go back to a spin casting in the river!

I was out on the Notty today. Had what some folks call a 'shaker' (about 2 lb) on. Others had caught some fish. I'm fairly new at the game so my 'batting average" is low.

I hope that's not giving away too much info per board guidelines. I'm not sure what the guideline are here but some are quite strict (secretive, even)

as long as u don't post exact spot your fishing your good. u can say name of a river but not the spot u were fishing. rules are right above the page feel free to read them

Thornbury was HOT last week and the Notty is just starting to see Steelies showing up south of Angus .
Late October and November are hottest months for Notty Steelhead action and as long as the ice stays off the river , I've fished right through January .
Remember that the area from Nicolston dam ( Hwy 89 ) to the mouth of the Pine in Angus is " catch and release only " regarding Steelhead .
