i have the steelhead float rod, (cheapest one) as well as the tranquility, both are amazing, the tranquility has more backbone and is better for the winter, due to none to little ice up in the guides. You can't beat either one for the money though IMO.

Bought one saturday fished it sunday.. Still a smelly rod got skunked on it but seems to be a rod well worth 85 bucks... Solid blank and looks like its gunna be fairly durable.. Decent sized guides. No ceramic. Soft tip so should take care of my 4lb lead ok.. Super lightweight. Unreal how light it is.. Cant say much about it yet but after first impression i would say definately go for it for 85 bones.. Will post again after landing a fish. Ill be out again this weekend so fingers crossed i can pull something together at the opener... 😏

Bart I'm using the exact same SS float rod. I have an 11'5" & a 13', both are good, I use the 11'5 more just because I'm a short guy 5'6" ...for the price it's a very good rod. no problems at all. I have landed 'nooks, cohos,1 atlantic, steelies, browns on them no problem.

I'll second that lightweight comment. it's pretty much a feather. I haven't landed any fish with it yet, but it feels good so far.

Even though it has a soft tip...you will feel every tug the fish will do. I am enjoying it very much. I mean, for the price of less than $100...you can't beat that.
