Hello there,

I am totally new to fishing and the whole forum scene. I started fishing a couple of years ago and continue to love it more and more. I don't need to tell all of you all how awesome fishing is.

I have been to a good number of places near by and have caught a few fish. I am an eager student who wants to learn as much as possible. i hope to soak it up like a sponge.

I apologize in advanced for any infractions. Like I said I'm new to forums and will do my best to abide by any rules.

You all seem respectful, knowledgable and friendly. I look forward to learning and getting to know all of you.

Thank you
iFish

Welcome iFish. Another Hamilton angler I see, there are quite a few of us on the forum.
Get ready to start soaking up. With opening day just around the corner lots of fishing questions and tips will be flying about.
Your right about knowledgable folks being around here :) . Everyone is respectful and friendly for the most part, but occassionally a bit of fur flies lol.
What are you interested in fishing for?

Enjoy.
Alfie.

Welcome bud!

My first forum too and if you're here to learn I doubt you'll be let down. Lots of really knowledgable and helpful people on here with good tips on most species. Cheers!

Thank you Backwoodsbassr and Alfie!

It's been less than a day and I've already learned so much about fishing in general and fishing in the Hamilton area

I enjoy catching bass and pike because i think they're such nice fish. I probably have more experience with bass and pike than any other fish. Although I've only caught one trout (besides stocked pond trout) I find trout and salmon to be interesting species because of their migration patterns. Then there's carp and cats that are always a thrill to catch because of the fight.

Welcome! Bass and pike are my favourite too! Never fished up around Hamilton before, if your ever in Toronto send me a pm! :)

Like the others said trout will be opening soon then you can catch your second!

I like trout and salmon for their beautiful colours and looks.

Pound for pound carp fight like nothing else, but then again I've never caught a 20 pound smaller! :D

Sounds like you've been busy in the past few years man...I obviously love bass too for more reasons than I'll try to name. Pike also crack me up with their angry duck bills! Never really hit much else except panners though.

Look forward to hearing your advice and like many of the others on here I'll do what I can to help you out if needed. Cheers!

welcome to this wonderful hobby and to the forum! fishing is one of those things you can learn something about it everyday of your life and still never fully understand it

Eww ...hamilton
It smells like garbage there.
???
Only at the dump, just like anywhere else, Mr Negative.
Do you ever have anything positive to add to anything reelminisculeminnow or are you always a downer?

Alfie.

Welcome to the forum. Always take notes of the positives and take criticism as a learning curve and you will be fine. I mainly go after trout (browns) and pike. Trout because I love "dem colours" and they're a sight when they jump in the air. But pike is something else. It's always like a chess match with them. You will always adjust to the situation when fishing with them. Sometimes everything work and sometimes everything will not.

reel this is your last warning, after this i can promise you atleast 5 poeple that will join me in asking that you be suspended or removed--your acting like a dick--say nice things or shut your mouth..hamilton ROCKS!!!! (except for the potholes) hahaha
