Submerged/Floating Light

Hi all

Is it legal to use a light to attract baitfish at night?

Thanks.

As per the regs it is illegal to:

"Use artificial lights to attract fish except:
– to fish for smelt, or to fish for lake whitefish or lake herring with a dip net
– if the light is part of a lure attached to a line used in angling."

CJR Thanks.

Noob, it's a unfair advantage for the angler. CT, LeBaron used to sell a light that you plug in and drop into the water, so long time ago it was legal. The light attracts the plankton which attracted the baitfish that would eat the plankton, then the gamefish come to feast on the baitfish.

Glad I asked before building one........lol.

..... Pretty sure CJR is correct ...

i had this question pop up in my head as well

CJR Thanks.

:D I was having internet problems so I didn;t see CJR's post, otherwise I wouldn't have said that.

Cheers.

All fixed now I hope. I have attention probs, The Walking Dead is on. I love this show, it's so gross.

Walking Dead is ok, I missed the first season, so I don't really get the plot in season 2 and 3. Hell on Wheels is my favorite.
