I've been trying to get shore walleyes for a while now. Usually I go to Trenton area and fish all night. I have tried worms and small minnows on the bottom and on floating jigs and sliding sinkers. Raps I think #9, slow cranking in orange/gold, blue/silver, on and on but no hits. What am I doing wrong? Planning to go again at the next New moon Aug 28, which I have been following without any success either.
Equipment used, 8'6" Daiwa Procaster Abu Garcia with 6 lb line.
Thanks for any and all advice.

Joel is correct in asking if other fishermen are catching fish , because if you are always the only one there ,then you may be fishing in an area that is void of walleye . Check with locals to be sure you are fishing in a productive area.

I moved from my original spot next to a local who told me to try next to him, he caught 1. Still nuttin. I m like some walleye repellent fishing dude or something...lol. Do the fish not like the smell of cigarettes? Sparkle Scale Worm scent should get rid of the smoke but maybe not.
Hey Joel52 I went to the Trent River mouth. Should the barometer be rising or dropping on what moon phase. That night was a full moon with some very thin high clouds moving in.

sounds like your spot isn't really producing.
try going somewhere where you know there's wallies... ask some fishing store owners... they know best.

I have seen enough people chain smoking and pulling in fish to ascertain that walleye, and other fish, are attracted to the smell of cigarettes or at the very least not repelled.

Rather than fish all night, I'd say the most productive times are the half hour leading up to and after sunrise/sunset, but in particular around sunset. Something like 8-10pm currently.

I'll try all your tips and advice the next time I go out, and I'll post any pics if I strike one. Thanks everyone, good fishing to you all.

I'm planning to head out tomorrow. What do you use to catch them drop shot, cranks, live bait or plastics?

Thanks everyone.
