My Wife's Sister lives in Wawa (So it is nice to visit "occassionally")

Went on the Agawa Canyon Trip, many moons ago.

Hopefully Superior will stay mainly PRISTINE ..... for a long time!

Hell of an INLAND FRESHWATER OCEAN ... that it is.

ps; Sweet Pics CC.

Course now I'm Ripping apart the boxes in the Closet, looking for some of mine... lol

Wow, I just got back from the Soo to find this thread. A very good friend of mine, Papa Joe passed away up there 2 weeks ago so I am very emotional right now about it. He and I fished the St Marys, Superior and a number of other spots he knew over the years. Joe was a native and was 69 when he passed so I have been blessed to inherit a lot of knowledge from him. I love that huge area and inland sea known as Lake Superior, if I ever win the lottery or at my sports books that is where I will end my days too.
Blair, my grade 7 music teacher, Mr Jefferies introduced me to the music of Gordon Lightfoot. I have every album he ever made. I have seen him in concert countless times, he is so great and so Canadian. The Edmund Fitzgerald went down on my 14th birthday so that song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
Cheers Papa Joe, I know we will fish together again one day. I also know that he is smiling down on all my friends and I. That we will all experience good times when we are up there at Superior.
I will also continue to visit the inland lakes and rivers he took me to, for his and my favorite fish, Specks.

Thanks for everything Joe.

Allan.

Condolences Alfie.

We can all associate our loved ones with beautiful areas like Superior.
Great to cherish the memories of those so dear with places so magnificent.

Canada ... Our home and Native land. True North and Free ... by all our Sons Command.

There is surely something mysterious about that place Gitchigoomie--I noted elsewhere that I scattered some of my fathers' ashes on the Michipicoten where we so often fished...

Thanks Blair and CC.
We scattered Joes ashes on an inland lake that absolutely teems with Specks. I don't know if it has a proper name but I assume it does, we always called it The Trout Lake. It is a very beautiful spot and very appropriate. It is also very remote, reached by 2 hours of driving logging roads. I have fished Specks all over northern ON and northern Que as well as Nfld and Man. I have caught them 5,6 and 7 lbs. The first time Joe took me to the Trout lake I caught my PB at 8 lbs 3 oz, it is still my PB to this day I was so excited. Joe looked at me and told me it was a beautiful fish, but that there were bigger ones in there to go for. 10 lbers he said. I hope to get back there soon, I'm sure I will catch one that big with an Angel looking over my shoulder.

My condolences Alfigee. Once my grandfather passed I fished with his reel exclusively for a few years. Only this year did I buy a new reel. Cherish the memories and continue to make new ones to honor the old traditions.

Hi. Does anyone know of some good sources for fishing reports along Superior's eastern shore, along Lake Superior Provincial Park and up to Wawa? Suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance. Mike
