Hello OFF!
My name is Churchill and I am a fishaholic...
-Seriously tho.. I am/was an avid fisherman.. Been fishing the great lakes tribs (ont, huron, erie) since my late teens (so almost 20 years). About 5-6 years ago, my career took precedence and I was forced to give up a sport I truly loved.. Until 2011 that is!
It was Feb and I had an urge to clean out my basement... While doing so I stumbled upon a large duffle bag.. It looked oddly familiar but I was unsure what lay inside.. I opened the bag to find my Neoprene waders & boots, my rubber waders chest & hip.. Then it hit me, all the memories of outings with family and friends.. Spending countless hours upon hours, and days upon days, walking and fishing the local tribs --such great times!.... Then it dawned on me! -Why was I not fishing?
As with most young professionals, I gave up some of my life's passions in order to accomplish the career goals I had put in front of me.. but now that my life has somewhat "settled", it allowed me a moment to reflect and ponder about the things that really make someone happy in life.. And up near the top was fishing...
So I went about searching my basement.. My loomis gear was stored in protective cases so I knew that my Center-Pin (float) reel & 13" rod were still good to go... My waders however were another story!.. I made the mistake of packing my waders without cleaning them first.. So it was no surprise to me when I discovered multiple leaks with both my chest waders.... Note* My browning waders were at least 10 years old when I packed them away, so I really got my $'s worth..
To make a long story short--I was Reinvigorated! I went to visit my local "go-to" outfitters and purchased what I needed.. New waders and boots being a priority
That's when I stumbled onto this forum..
I look forward to spending countless hours reading up and posting on this forum.. well that is until the water cleans up...at which point I will be trekking through the local streams & rivers ;-)
Also looking forward to meeting local anglers as well! --Perhaps arranging meet-ups at the local streams!!!!
Thanks for having me!
& FISH ON!
