Hey Guys, looking to take my dad out fishing. Will be renting a boat. Was thinking about Rice or Scugog but these are usually better if you really know the lake and have some tried and true techniques or spots. Does anyone know of a lake within two hours of TO where Bass and or pike are plentiful doesnt have to be monsters as I know that takes more legwork. Was thinking maybe Island or little lake would these be good choices?

I don't know why, But i think I would tell you to go back to scugog or rice...First off, those lakes have tons of fish, and the possibility for a monster.

Second, The lakes you mentioned have smaller pike..which I don't even know if they have good numbers.

Tip for you at any kawartha lake...Fish the weed edges that are clearly visible...Senko. Spinnerbait..Heck, even drop a worm down the weed edge....

Another is to find a weedbed that's got a few feet before reaching the surface...With that, run baits above it and wait for fish to come up to attack it. If you want to fish live bait with your dad, add a float.

It would be in your favour to be on the lake hopefully early in the morning because that's when you'll find the most fish biting.

Thanks Guys, might end up at Scugog. Thinking of going later in the morning as the cooler nights might make the fish a little lazy early morning.

Headin out tmrw morning. Going to rent a boat from Goreski's and try our luck. Will be bringing the camera and hopefully will need it! lol

There is a slim possibility for me to be out there on Scugog tomorrow as well!
Say hi if you see two chinese guys on a green flatback canoe on a trolling motor. I will probably be launching around Port Perry though.
