That's awesome to see, but thank goodness it's in a closed section!

I don't think fish will be there like walking in the park if it's an open section. i fished an area once (open section) east trib. just like in the picture. rainbows after rainbows....a few years later...it's not the same.

I know that tree! haha, Wait until spring, there is about 3 times as many in that exact spot!

Nice sight to see that's for sure. Never seen so many bows in one spot. I fish fairly large river systems so have never really sight fished for them before.

Add enough colour to the water in a pool that stacked to make them invisible, and then be prepared for sore arms after a couple hours of fishing it. But when the water is clear, it's tougher.

Opener 2011, pool 4x that stacked and muddied water...

Tantalizing for certain, but how stacked will that pool be with anglers come opening day?
I don't get out east of the city often to fish since I am located west, just curious.

Alfie.

few rivers will be stacked for opener. i am not sure if we are going to go, numbers of fisherman increase yearly as centerpin popularity is increasing, generally steelhead fishing is becoming more popular and more affordable, lot of people are getting into the sport.
unless the spot is secluded or bunch of people go together and hold the good holes, it will feel rather like fishing for salmon on a saturday in a public area lol. at this rate as the weather is getting warmer, i am not surprised this group will spawn much earlier and leave earlier.

Easy access pools like that one are shoulder-to-shoulder.

Maybe this isn't the pool I thought it was? I thought this one required a bit of walking/investigating to find.

As for ^ comments regarding crowds, my experience has been that stacked pools are out there, and you can have them to yourself or shared with another angler or two, even on opening day.

Whether we get another mild March/April or not, this winter seems to be more snowy. Each snowfall is a blessing for the water levels..they have been so low lately..the freezing + snow is much needed. It's nice getting actual "chrome" way upstream on opener, last opener it seemed they were all but finished spawning.

If I'm thinking of the same pool as the picture, it won't be. It takes a bit of a hike to get there. Had a great time last opener, I was fishing the banks and had no problem, clear water, beautiful. Day 2, not so much, 3 people were wading (and weren't even catching fish), stayed at the bank, nothing. Total spooked. Oh well.
