hello everyone
I'm headed on a fishing trip on Saturday, I know this lake pretty well but have only gone out on the water targeting walleye, and just come across pike. I want to spend a couple days going after pike, anyone have any pointers on lures and such to target pike. The lake is a tea stained lake so the water is darker then normal. Any advice will be great

Thanks

I have caught pike on a variety of lures. Early in the day and later in the afternoon top water lures produced some fun fish. During day and depending on how stained the water is various lures. Five diamond and red devil spoons are always a safe bet. Also large twister tails on jigs work quite well. The more stained the water, the brighter the color. chartreuse and white are my favorites. And of course a lively minnow under the float is always a killer

Go to bass pro and get the cheap soft bait swim tails in the pike color. Two of us caught thirty eight like last weekend with them. Not too big. The fry are still small

I like the rapala bomber - My go to no matter what the temperature, water levels or deep into the season.

2-4 feet depth - clear with the red head. Boom - guaranteed.

For me at least :p

suspending plugs...anything will do, cheap or expensive. if it stays long in the strike zone. you're good. grab yourself a nice polarized sunglasses. it's much more fun sight fishing them on clear water. helps you study their feeding habits.

Pike hit anything but I have exceptional results with a good ole dardevle spoon.

Been catchin them on ripnraps a lot lately too

Johnson silver minnow with a twister tail, I use my home made spinner baits for everything cheap easy to make and better to lose then a 10 dollar lure , even though I have a tackle box full of ten dollar lures haha

I've picked out pike on spoons, tube jigs, and plastic night crawlers.

From readings pike prefer the red spoons. I was using neon green. When I caught the one a tube jig it destroyed it!

Good luck!

pike will hit anything that moves and will fit their mouth. you can catch pike with senko worms too.
