4th Saturday in April, trout opener.
Is everyone as excited as me? I have all my gear tuned up and waiting, license in hand.
I know we can't name names here, but I am hoping my buddy wants to try Specks this year cause I know places. He always wants to try a certain western trib, where we have been skunked 2 of the last 4 years. He drives, I don't have a vehicle, I have to go with the flow.
What does everyone else have on the go?

Alfie.

Yup I'm psyched !! Still using my gear and have my secret spot from last year and will be even better than last year with the weather were having

You have to take me to this spot. Hell Ill be blindfolded if need be.

Me and my buddy scouted this spot pre season last year and bowed to keep it between the two of us.. Even my close fishing long time friends won't know this spot

Not really a big trib but I'll pack a few of those anyway, thanks Chris.
Hey Kit and boughner, how do I get in on this scouting?

Alfie.

me and my bro went scouting like 5 weeks back, and we saw a few good spots to try this following weeks, i gotta say, scouting pays off, and it gives you a better idea when you hit those particular spots, but alot of legwork within a day, LOL!!! but so far the one spot i tried last week paid off,

Forget a full day of scouting! Fish the morning and scout the afternoon! I'm in too if you guys want another ;)

And Alfiegee, by big I mean the popular one that gets big at the mouth.

I'm sure I know which one you mean Chris, only cause I talk about it all the time. Not relating to Trout tho.
I haven't yet really struck chrome there, I have seen them. I did get one last July, which seemed like a weird time for them, maybe a stray Skamania ?

When do the bows start heading back to the lake?
once they spawn they will start to drop back .. So any time now

A lot of fish still have to go up the rivers, some have already come back down, a lot will only go back in late May, but I'd say most at about the first or second week in May is when most make the trip down.

ton of fish still need to go up the rivers, considering fishways have been frozen since december, they;ve been bumping their heads on the ice for a long time, i think it'll be june before they're out.

I will say this, be very careful when you're out on opener that you aren't puling fish off the redds, they're easy to spot and will be aggressive
