Nice fish! Gotta love it when you get one on the "last cast" Awhile back I was out with my son doing some spinning for pike. We wern't having much success and he was bugging to go home so i said last cast and as soon as my rap hit the water a nice sized pike smashed it. Couldn't leave after that and he was excited after watching me land one. Ended up landing 4 more and he got his first pike ever.

Good times!

That's a combination I have been intending to try. I don't have a centerpin. I've done a little float fishing with a spin reel but it's a bit awkward. As I see it, on smaller rivers such as the Bighead the fly rod with roe or worm would cast far enough and could be drifted downstream w/o a float. I've caught specks that way many years ago with a worm.

Nice tail on that fish.

Edit: holy smokes I just realized how big that fish is

Thats a nice buck there...I would love to hook one like that on the fly rod....
soon...very soon...

I dub this fish "paddletail"...

Seriously the tail on that thing looks like it could lay a smack down on ya.

Nice fish.
