Is anyone going, or has anyone gone?. I went on Wednesday, The opening day and had a good time. I was there last year, and seemed to be abit bigger, or better. Picked up a couple of things, I got P-Line fluorocarbon cx premium 8 lb for my mitchell spinner, and I got the sufix performance braid for my quantum baitcaster, 15lb for now. I also picked up some Punisher jig heads(weedless), also a X rap...two free hats, but no stickers. ohh I also got 3 nice spinners...all in all it was a great day! If you can make it out, take in a pro at one of the many stages.

Trouble from the weekens still so instead of the sportsmans show as planned I got to go to the Canada Blooms show yesturday yeah!!!! frig what a waste of a day.
Anyone getting dragged to that do what ever u can to get outta it now, run hide stay in the BSMT she might not find u till it's over hahaha.

Frig, flower show over fishing show that just sux!
 
Not going to either show. I got everything I need for the upcoming season so can't see myself paying $17 to get in and $12 for parking. That's 3 Rapalas right there, or 3 packs of Beavers. Not to mention the headache of driving all the way down there from Ajax, plus gas. Lebarons is still having there no TAX event. probably cheaper than the show. If the wife goes to Vaughan Mills this weekend to do some shopping, I'll tag along to catch one of dave Mercer's seminars.

Show will be even smaller next year, if it's on at all. Read an article today that David Millar is going to ban the sale of guns at next years show. So it will be smaller or it will have to move out of the Toronto city limits.

Not going to the show either same reasons as Diggyj, $17+12+gas=Beer & pizza tonite;) Plus I got a new toy to play with this weekend;)
 
Sweet ride. You should put a trailer hitch on it this weekend and see if he notices. Tell him you want to pull your boat with it. :)

He also has an 09 Aspen I told him to get a trailer hitch when he ordered it he never did...thats an extra burnout in his challenger :)

Hopefully he doesn't come across this site....
 
i was also there wednesday, watched the dog long jump which was cool. all i picked up was a shimano chronarch 51mg baitcaster.
 
i spent too much at the show...

two new rods a new reel. I was looking for the Rapala TS2 6'10" Medium for plastics but noone carried that model. Ended up getting a 7' medium Berkley Lightning rod plus got a nice leatherman multi tool to go with. Perfect for cutting braided line.

got 3 spinners, floating frogs, topwaters, craw tubes, and the urge to go fishing.

The berkley rod actually feels really good and balances very nicely. was gonna get the R-type rod since the TS2 wasn't available, but i had to stick to my budget... :)

i got the 3000, i spoke to the shimano rep and he couldn't tell me why the 3000 was lighter than the 2500. plus the 3000 comes with a nice paddle handle.

you bought the sahara as well correct? what rod do you have with it?

No rod yet, Going to get a Compre hopefully for it in the near future. At the moment, I tried putting it on a UL 5'6 Fenwick Eagle GT, not bad..
Tomorrow it's going to be tried on a Berkley lightning rod (6'6 M) also. Not the shock though, the original one that is red + black.

Mine is 1000 sized though

yeah my budget wasn't enough for a compre. BPS had the compre on sale last week for 89.99 i think.
the new style berkley is specially designed for super lines, or so they say. I bought the medium but it feels more like a medium heavy. Does anyone know what the 1K carbon matrix is equivalent to in graphite ratings (ie. IM rating)? or is it not even comparable?

I wasn't looking for a small reel thats why i chose the 3000, but it also costs me more line.
 
OH SH!T! I went to BPS over the classic week, and All i saw was rod prices being JACKED UP HIGH!
When I visited once before the classic, it was 109.99 .....6'6 ML
During the classic , it was 124.99......same rod.....

So I guess this is how BPS makes money off when they lose money from the reel trade in. and 89.99...WOW. CANT BELIEVE I MISSED OUT!!!! GRRR ;)

And I dont think your lightning rod will be bad at all, Although I do have some suspicion it's kind of like an Ugly stick, where the rod just feels so stiff.
 
Rod and reels don't matter, it's whats hanging off the end that counts....... ;) They jack prices so they can pay for all the reps that come out to answer questions and to pay Dave Mercer. Anyone catch one of his seminars? How was it, topic?

it was 125$ during the classic? hmmm, the shimano rep at BPS tried to sell me the compre and thats when i saw it for 89.99 and i decided to wait cause i didn't want to spend more than $50 for a rod this year. maybe they didn't change the price tag?!?

i've never used an ugly stick, but yeah the medium is very stiff like my med heavy rods. at least its got a nice fast tip.
 
i know im a lil behind the times with this post but w/e's,lol. i wanted to go this year but had no money when it came to it, and i had to work the sat as well neways. NEXT YEAR!!! lol.
