I really should have brought my gear to Waterloo with me today, I saw some super tempting open pools, probably teething with lethargic hungry winter pike.

Some scenery shots

Horse buggy galloping into the distance, a common sight at this place

What's the river "C"? Did you see the pike swimming? That would be so cool to see.

Thanks for the pics, very pretty.

put on a bit of worm and dough, catch a 4 inch creek chub, put it on the big hook and you will find out! plus i don't think pike are this high, unless you are near the mouth.

Get pike all the way up to both dams below belwood lake and conestoga lake, aswell as the lakes themselves.

Its a river the name starts with C in the waterloo region..runs into The Grand..

Now there's a loophole in the OFF Regs eh.

Lake Ontario trib that rhymes with Monte.

Anyone know if you're allowed at the base of the "big" dam at this time of year? I know you're not allowed near the lake, no ice fishing permitted. I'd hit the dam though.

No fishing on the lake? Is this because the conservation area is closed?? What if you know someone with a cottage on the lake?

The conservation area is closed and im pretty sure there is always an officer in the dam control room up top from what I've been told. Im sure they would have something to say.

All cottages are 3 seasons - no winter cottaging.
No ice fishing because the water level is so variable it makes for weak ice and lots of cracks. There are "no ice fishing" signs posted everywhere.

Technically the dam runout is conservation area land, so I'm guessing its closed to fishing. I'm driving by there later. I'll ask yogi on the dam.

darn that's disappointing. I was looking forward to searching the lake for some crappie since its only a 30 min drive.
