Hey all saw some pretty impressive fish,,,,,today.....while sight fishing in shallow water......
saw a few largies...and a small mouth over 5lbs.....
saw the first walleye of the season....had to be close to 8 to 10 lber.....
we pulled our lines out of the water ....and just watched it swim under the hut....

a few big perch were also spotted but continued to scatter quickly.....every once and a while....

after about 5 hours of seeing fish on occasion but getting zero hits.....we were discussing....calling it quits....
when a missle shot out from the left side of my hole and stole my 4 inch minnow a disappeared in a quick gulp...
and it was on....lol....
what a beauty fish....on lite lines we were using for crappie and pike....I managed to land a muskie....and quickly release and revive it......to watch this beauty swim away......as i lifted it out my brother made a mark on the styrofoam inside the hut.....so we could get a good estimate of the length......
we had it at just over 50".....and a girth estimate.....of 8" up each side approx 4 to 5" accross the back horizontally ...giving approx girth at 24" the fish calculator has it in at about 35 to 38 lbs.....

best part was my brother shot a video of the catch......and then put the cam down to help me unhook revive and release....
and if I can figure how to upload it....and maybe edit some language...I will put it up...
It was my bro's first attempt to video...so its a bit shakey in spots....plus the holes in the hut are double
10" with the sides chiseled out just to give it some scale

click on the picture for a video....of the catch....
I never take any posed pictures of out of season fish......
the rules state that you must immediately release......meaning no time for pictures....
there are a few points in the video you can get a pretty good look at it...

nice job both the fish and the pictures

just curious, what pound test line you had? I'm surprised it did not break

6 lb flouro was on the rod......with a shimano reel.....
which was set up for hammer handle pike....and crappie.......
It took a while to get new batteries in the cam while I was fighting the fish
thats why the video was only 46 sec....

that's a nice looking muskie! nice work!

Very Nice Auger.

My Situation Was Similar To Yours. Was Targeting Perch And In Three Caught My Limit And TheSize Ranged From 4-14" the average was 10"(kept about 30 enough to feed a family of three).

Dropped a minow down the hole and started to clean up. And from the corner of my eye i saw on the camera a big muskie coming down scooping the bait and taking off. Unfortunately I Lost Mine And A Lot OF Line.

Keep It Coming Guys.

If you're so inclined, it'd be great if you posted that video on YouTube or something, then posted the link in OFF for us to see!
