It was such a beautiful afternoon, I decided to go see if I could catch me a salmon. I went to this spot, which is near my neighbourhood.

After about 30 minutes, I caught this, my first-ever salmon!

That is a salmon, isn't it? I caught another one just like it about 10 minutes later.

No, I didn't see any salmon jumping, and I only caught the two smallmouth bass. I was on that first rock pile in the picture.

By the way Mikey, this isn't near the Humber... it's the new Port Union waterfront in Scarborough. It's about halfway between Highland Creek and the Rouge River.

I don't know if you'd expect to see salmon in a spot like this, which is what I was asking in the other thread.

Toober, is that the mouth of the river there?
If it is then you will see salmon depending upon the size of the river. Obviously small tribs bring small runs, but depending on where they were hatched or released, they "Will Be BAACK".

As far as I know, that is not a mouth of a river, it's just a small inlet/bay. Probably does not hold any salmon. I believe you gotta go and find something bigger than that for the salmon to come cruising, such as ashbridges bay that mikey was talking about or bluffers park. I know there are salmon at bluffers park. I used to catch them there years ago.

I beleive that what disspatcher said is correct.

Whether there will be fall salmon or not will depend on whether or not there is a river dumping into the bay.

It's hard to tell from that picture Toober. Is there a river mouth there?
