Been looking for a few places to fish in the Markham area and I've fished some places with success and others, not so much.

Toogood pond has been reported before and I'm putting up my first post with my luck. It looked healthy for a three pounder (verified with my scale) and I was surprised to fish that out, considering how busy it gets and how often some anglers keep what the catch (like 5 inch fish!!!).

Without hesitation, I let the beasty back in the waters, hoping it will grow to a 4 pounder next year, unless someone hooks it up and decides to mount it or eat it.

Was using a buzz bait didn't get much action. Went to minnow & bobber, the lazy man way, and landed her on my hook!

Just a warning for the random fisherman passing through, bring your bug spray. They got really bad and I couldn't have been happier leaving a fishing hole.

nice fish man. i have never been there before but heard it gets really busy with families. Surprised to see one that big being pulled out of there.

I do agree that it's high traffic area. It's just fishing on the bridge at the north end of the pond. You walk along the path until you get onto the boardwalk and keep walking until you see the river system. Again, bring bug spray!

It's such a small area that after fishing that 3 pounder, it was all quite, except for the mosquitos.
