I got the afternoon off work and was able to get to the Toronto Island Ferry at 3:30pm and left on the 6:00pm ferry. I was hoping to catch my first pike, but near the end tried to catch my first bowfin however ended up not catching anything. Still had fun as it was a lovely day. Saw another angler there and he gave me some tips on which lures to use and where to fish, if he is reading this, THANKS! Saw another angler but he was across the canal. I was using crankbaits, spoons, husky jerks for pike and worms for bowfin. Cheers.

That's what I should have been doing today but I got caught up in yard work & reading this forum.
Looks like the weekend is going to AAA so lots of time to be spent outdoors. Just not sure if the fish will be on or not.

nice report.

I went to the islands first time back in april before the season had closed, only had the wards island ferry working then. I had many follows from some huge pike!..none bit that day.. Im thinking of making another trip down there soon again. If ur willing to meet up, always good to cover more area.

Did u keep an eye on any fish that followed ur lures? they tend to do that alot.

Ya, did not even see a fish following! Seemed to me like was at the wrong places that day.

Was out doing yard work from 8:30 to 5:30 today! I know what you mean! The island is a really nice place to fish, the water is kinda clear and it is not very crowded. However, I did told that you are not allowed to fish on the island a few times by people who did not know better. Cheers

That was my experience at the island.

Either way, I am planning on getting back soon too. I have visitors out from the UK for the next two weeks, but after that I will be hitting the islands for a full day fishing.

Your experience was probably a lot better then mine. Then. Good luck fishing.

Any time I get out fishing it is usually done up North or when I am down south in the states.

I promised myself that this year I would start getting out a lot more often and taking in some of the fishing oppurtunities that Toronto has to offer near the downtown core.

Since this whole no shore fishing fiasco, what is the final ruling on shore fishing downtown? I found an article showing that the Island is still covered by the TPA and so I was wondering if this area is still safe to fish?
