So going to be heading this week to try my hand at channel catfish. Been hearings lots of exciting things about them so going to give it a try. If anybody has any tips that would be great. Going to be cutbait or chicken liver hopefully I'll be able to cast out far enough to reach them.

I heard that RUMORS about chicken Liver so yes one day I figured I give it a shot. The wasps loved it the fish not so much!

Needless to say I haven't tried that again!

If your on a beachead set up 4 meduim sized split shot 1 and 1/2 a foot away from the hook. Load the hook up with worms or similar plastics. Chuck into the water and let it sink. Reel up the slack enough so you can feel tension against the line, but not enough that you loose the tension. Then wait.

You will feel the attack. Cat attack feels like a hit and pull. He hits the lure then drags it away relentlessly. Bass is different, they seem to tap it a few times then take it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips HyperFox. Wasn't able to go to dunneville due to the time frame we had. Targeted carp inside and caught some monsters (Let's See Pics!!! Thread).
