Hello....I'm new to this forum and hoping you nice folks can help me.
Newly retired my husband and I would like to plan a week long fishing triip someplace fairly close to home (London) . We don't have a car so using public transportation to and from is a must. Unless the stores are easy to walk to, the town would need taxi service as well.

Naturally we would like affordable cottage or motel accomidation as close to the water as possible. We would like to rent a boat (some places just can't be fished without one) but not for the entire we ek as we also enjoy shore fishing. I have studied up on Lake Eugenia, Midland and some places along the Lake Erie shore, spots closer to home since we are lugging all our gear and clothing.
If anyone knows of some places that meet our needs can give me a heads up I would appreciate any information you can pass along.

I always think it would be great if there were fishing clubs where the members got together for trips...sharing expenses, transportation and good times. Are there any such clubs in the London area?

I wish you all good fishing and thanks in advance for any help.

Hi. I believe there is a bassmasters club in Woodstock you could check into. Have you ever fished in the Thames River in London? There a few spots accessible by bus.

i used to live in london. i remember a club on soutdale i believe... kind of out by pond mills... check that area.
other than that, there's a campground out on your way from north london to stratford. you could always pitch a tent for the week if you're doing it soon. i think it's on highway 7 to stratford. it's a beautiful lake.

That's Wildwood conservation Area. It has bass, carp and pike. They also rent canoes. It would be a great spot through the week. Lots of water skiers on the weekends.
