so who's affected by this? lol. there was no 24hr notice or anything; it just happened beginning at 12am. it sucks because i was driving home and i saw people waiting for their buses. i stopped and said ttc was on strike -- didn't say thank you or anything, just walked away.. people these days lol.

they were probably too pissed to hear the news or were thinking about alternate plans at the time
you did a good thing
i'm sure they appreciated it after they figured a way to their intended destination

and yea... it came out of the blue... i heard it on the radio and was like whhaaaaaaaattttttt?

i hope it clears soon. exam on monday... exam on monday... i should just drive!

Yea, who the heck goes on strike at midnight.just why didn't they wait till end of their shift at 3am? its stink especially for the people working the night shift and have no way to get home after. Glad i just finish my exam last Thursday, now i can fish all i want this week.

I think it will effect everyone in the GTA, those who rely on the TTC and all the traffic this strike will cause:(

strike's over!
so... should we try and predict when the next fare increase will be? o_O

Here is my rant about the TTC:

First how many commercials etc you seen saying arrive alive take the TTC? SO how many people on Fri went DT left the car parked so they could have a good time only to be left stranded?

I could understand a morning strike but 12pm is garbage no notice!

Now ask yourself how many women had to walk home in the dark that night? TO is safe but it aint perfect.

How many people ended up having to take that chance driving?

So bottom line is the next time a bunch of people are heading out will they honestly rely on the TTC to get them home alive or just stick to a DD?

Drinking and Driving pissed me off so this strike just didn't make sense at all and what happened to the 48 hours?

They should all be fired! Scrap em all and make it an essential service.

Last point:
Had they not done that on a Fri night one of the busiest bar nights I bet the Gov would have let it continue but they way they handled this was CRAP. So yeah BUS drivers you will be getting an ear full today!

It was your choice so deal with it!

you know what's funny. even when we were on TTC property we're not that protected either...
i'll never forget the day i saw someone in their 20s physically punch a senior repeatedly in the head because the senior budded him in line. of course the driver didn't do anything about this and the one person who defended the senior was also punched. the guy in his 20s quickly ran and left afterwards...

wth.. that's just wrong... i can't believe any person would do such a thing.. especially to a senior!

To me it seemed that the drivers didn't want to do this but they were forced by the union. The union leader was not even interested in appologizing to all the TTC customers for giving a one hour notice. Terrible!
