Rivers are blown to $#%^. 50mm since the weekend the charts are telling me. Are the steel running crazy when the rivers are blown and so high right now??? Also, how long ideally after a 50mm blow out should we wait before we can /safely/ get back out there and hook up? I was out a few times last week before the storms hit and didn't have any luck... really itching to get some here haha. All help appreciated thanks.

where did you look to see how much rain fell? Ive always wanted to look the next day to see how much rain actually fell the night/day before but dont know where to look.

It will be a while for the rivers to clear up if that much rain fell, especially with the forecast ahead. Looks like they will be blown this weekend and next weekend will be up in the air.

OH oh, sounds like you have the chrome ShaKes..........lol.

We better get you onto a river soon..........lol.

really depends on the river. Have a look at the wateroffice graphs and you'll see that some drop much faster than others. It depends largely on the gradient of the rivers. Here on the Notty downtream of the Minesing wetlands it takes a long time to drop, partly because the wetlands act as a big sponge or similar to a lake.

Small streams clear faster than the lower ends of large rivers. Head upstream and maybe find fishable water this weekend. Hopefully they've moved up in good numbers...

I use that link all the time, where does it tell you how much rain actually fell?

Anyone kno usually how long they take to clear out ? we talkin a week or 2 or 3 days ?

"Usually" doesn't really apply in this case.(I take 'usually' to mean a bunch of rain followed by fairly clear weather) It looks like more rain on the way tomorrow, so that will keep the levels up. The lower part of G. Bay has got a brown ring around it right now!

Lots of rain is not the end of the world. There are always optons...

Beach casting should be pretty hot right now. :)

+1 usually the fish (just like us) are in the "waiting game"....and probably "twiddling their fins" waiting to run. water is pretty high right now but i will be starting creeping into the mouth before the week ends.

Am i gonna be the only one catching fish this weekend lol well at least trying to catch them...ive had some success when rivers are blown, just gotta use the right presentation...might not get as many on but should hook into a cpl....Good luck to everyone going out this weekend...dress warm lol..

Nado if you go to the Environment Canada weather site, at the bottom of the page it will tell you how much rain fell yesterday and if you go to historical data, you can find how much fell each day of this month. Hope that helps.
