Tying mono to braided line

Hi just wanted to know what the best way (knot) to tie mono to braided line for salmon fishing, i assuming salmon can see the braided line so dont hit it, and whats the best line to tie to your lure,, thanks what do you guys prefer?

Used to use an Albright knot, and they work really well but finicky to get right.

Started using a GT Knot this season, only had to tie it once because it's still going strong after 70 Kings landed. Stupid easy to tie the second time, practice the first time at home.

I was wondering the same a few days ago and came across the Double Uni Knot. It was easy to tie but I can't comment on the strength as I didn't get any hits today.

By the way... I did tried that knot several times and it kept on sliding out when pulled totighten. oh well

nail knot works real good too and way simpler to tie ...........double overhand knot on the braid and tie snell to the main with your leader has worked well for rip jigging walleyes for years 14 lb braid to 6 lb mono

why "knot" use a small barrel swivel? quick,and easy

Double uni knot all the way.. Oh And about swivels, well good sir, some setups specifically require no swivel.. ie running a j13, so if your not going to be helpful please do not post..

why "knot" use a small barrel swivel? quick,and easy

for me reeling a swivel into my rod tip is difinately no good if you get a chip in the insert you will damage line potentially causing the loss of a PB. if your swivel is to large to fit in guides then you have this long line out when you cast resulting in less acurracy and distance.

In "Everyday Fishing"... none of us are perfect.
Maintaining the best usage of our EXSPENSIVE EQUIPMENT is certainly important to me.
More so, than catching an extra fish or 2.

Once you have "Notched or Chipped" the tip, well .... FRIG!
Most of us are not Guide Replacement experts ... and why neccessarily put yourself in that situation anyway.

I very much understand the importance of presentation - Especially in the GIN CLEAR late fall or Winter months, when those trout are particuliarly finicky.
However, if you have a 3'+ leader .... why use the micro swivel anyway? (Not that those who do - is anything wrong)

I learned through "Ruining my tips" many moons ago to stick with slightly larger swivels and seem to do fine.
Just a shared opinion.

i like the jib jab about rigging methods on OFF.... you need to try new things and play around a bit with setups to reallly fine tune your individual style and thats exactly what it is INDIVIDUAL there is 101 ways to get your baits to the fish and i think the most important part of the equation is that YOU have confidence in it. confidence catches fish.

I guess it depends on the bait, whether to have a swivel or not. The last thing you want is line twist because your bait has been swirling in the water.
