Getting bored of tying the same nymph patterns all the time( typical hares ear, pt, prince nymphs) just looking for something different any suggestions

How about some Royal wulfs and buggers.. Guide's hare's ear... This one is totally tricked out and fun to tie.

I like tying Higa's S.O.S. - pretty fun looking little fly.
Now that's a cool looking fly will definitely be trying some of those will post pics when they are done

There's a few patterns I used as my bread and butter when guiding...

Orange tail olive. Lil' black basztard
------------------------------- -------------------------
sizes----# 12-14 ( 1XL nymph). Size----#12-14 (1XL nymph)
Thread---6/0 olive (uni-thread). Thread---6/0 black(uni-thread)
Tail-----tuft of orange antron. Tail-----black hackle fibers
Body-----olive chenille. Body-----peacock hearl or (seal tied sparse)
Hackle---Lt brown (furnace) palmered. Ribbing--blue tinsel or k-flash
Hackle---black (tie sparse) then trim all hackle size length of hook gap *(important step)

If I had to pick one pattern for late fall-winter it would be the Lil'black basztard,....this is deadly pattern!...Georgian bay to lake ontario.

If you have tying or material questions would be happy to help.

Still trimming the ends off your hackle...stop it...

Makes for ugly FF...
I see a small hook size, maybe some fine Whiting dry fly hackle so you don't have to trim.
Bob's your uncle, or not.
DO IT

it does make it look ugly to fly tying artist like yourself :)

yea, possibl on the dry fly hackle, but again, without more info from the person that posted the materials list, neither one of us has any way of knowing for sure.
