Anyone ever use the Rapala waders? They seem well priced at $175, any feed back will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What ever is within your budget will work fine. You might have to replace more often but they'll do the job. 80% of the time your not even in the water.Only ones who think 300-900 buck waders are a must is the Simms Co.

I am not rich enough to buy cheap things! Had 3 pairs of different waders in past (not Simms) none of them lasted more than a year. Have my Simms for past 4 years still running strong. 3X175.00 plus tax over $550.00 plus wet and cold feet. There is reason why Simms are best. They do only that, wading and rain ware, made in USA. Redinton. Rapala, Orvis. Patagonia etc. made in China. One year unconditional warranty after that first repair or replacement is on them.

Made that mistake of buying cheaper waders and never again.

You can't go wrong with Simms. I've had Redingtons for awhile now and they have treated me well; the company even sent me a replacement pair no charge when one of the booties began to leak approx. 1.5 years after purchase. Patagonia, apparently, has the best warranty service in the business, but their prices are comparable to Simms.

Also take a look at some of the Orvis line of waders, good quality excellent warranty. You get a pair of the Encounter series for around 150.00. I believe sail carries these also.

Their going to leak one day.
I'm not disputing Simms quality.
But I am disputing the cost.
They've long past the reasonable cost factor. I would love to know the actual mark up percentage as compared to actual manufacturing cost? IMO they would sell alot more product with a more reasonable retail price. Probably increase their quarterly profits.

Can't speak to the Rapalas.

However I totally agree the Simms are worth the cost. First of all, not all Simms are outrageously priced. All waders will leak one day. Simms will ensure you've gotten your money's worth long before that day comes. Amortize the purchase price over the life span and it's not a tough decision.

I for one will be looking into this product.
Everyone loving this sport should be warm and dry at a reasonable cost.
Competition always balances the cost factor.

Best way is to try the rapala waders on see if you like the fit & comfort, drop a dime, it's all a warranty's game after that.
layering under the waders are just as important during winter.

I started off with the CT 69.99 special... worked until I found new ones. Its about comfort and they dont make u catch more fish.....

Hey if Italo uses it, they must be good stuff lmao, just check out how the warranty is like on them, I have been hearing alot of good things about their line of float reels and rods being comparable to the top shelf stuff out there, so im guessing their waders shouldnt be far behind.

I own a set of rapala gortex waiters so far so good 6 moths later with heavy river use lots of km on them and still in great shape worth the 175 in my opinion hope that helps

Thanks for the replies guys and gal. They fit well and Le Baron said bring them back if they leek even after the warranty is done. I'll wait for the 2016 ns. No hurry my Bass Pro ones are still good for now.
