Hey man, I live in Burlington Ontario. I have searched so many different places for good walleye fishing around here with minimal luck. I used to live near Belleville ontario, Im sure you have heard of Bay of Quinte Area? Well I have a cottage down their still and I have to say by faar it is the best wallaye fishing I have ever had. I have spots down their that you catch them all day, even when the waters calm. Its worth the drive, let me know if you want any more info. I have a friend that rents cottages and has guided fishing excursions and i can get you a super deal. Great guy too. check out Merlin Park Cottages, he's a super guy his name is Kevin.
As far as this side of Toronto, I have caught a few fishing the Lift bridge seperating Burlington, and Hamilton. Usually use a foating jig head and worm, with a weight about 4 feet back.
Good luck man hope this helps

Anyone know of any lakes which hold walleye which are not to far from the GTA?

To me 2 hours is far. Maybe I just don't enjoy driving my car.

Rice Lake had a good population of Walleye, anyone know if thats changed?

I'm definately going to get out there once or twice this year; I'll let you know.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned scugog.
take a boat out, find deeper water ( which i think is really hard since its a very shallow lake), and i htink you'll do very well.
most of the walleye i've pulled out in my life were from scugog.

Man I would love to try some of the lakes around here, I hear Rice lake is pretty good, But my boat is 2.5hrs away. Damn city living, I have to drive it to get to my boat! Does anyone know of any places that are good for large pike near Burlington,Hamilton Area. I am landlocked, but dotn mind renting a boat if needed.

Bellwood is still in the early days of walley fishing. They only introduced them a few years back!

I mean Bellwood is ok for Pike and Bass McLean was asking about Pike you right the Walleye fishing is not that good I think the Grand River would be better Brent conservation Area may have some Walleye?

Thanks guys, I have never heard of Bellwood. I have been in Burlington for 5years now and still dont know the area that much. Being landloacked down here sucks too, lol. I will check it out soon, but Im counting down the trout season. I am so excited I have tons of pics of fish you can catch on Bronte Creek, and in the summer, the smallmouth bass fishing is amazing their.
Thnx again for the heads up guys.
Chris
