Walleye, Pike Tackle box

pike and walleye should have separate boxes... what's your budget?

it could be a big box?

lol jk

only thing I can say for walleye is pickeral rigs, my favorite pike lure is a spinnerbait

I need help deciding what to put in my pike/walleye tackle box.

Mepps! I would use around a size 3, either black, white with red spots, silver, gold, etc. No need to get the fancy Mepps that have feathers or minnows or frogs attached.

You want some steel leaders, mostly for pike, as it won't effect their opinion of your offering but it will increase your confidence knowing that they can't bite through your line.

Plain old Rapalas that mimic the size of baitfish in the waters you are fishing, you can also use Rapala knock offs from Walmart, I've had just as much luck with cheapers knock offs.

In case you're new to fishing: I only target Walleye when it's dark outside or just barely any sun left - I don't really bother during the day.

If northerns are big and in an agressive mood i will go with:
1 Rapala Magnum - firetiger
2 Rapala Saltwater Magnum - Green Mackeral
3 Spinnerbait 1 1/2 oz LIme green or Blaze orange Bucktail
4 Rapala J13 Jointed Perch and Orange
5 Spoons 3 3/4" red/white and five of diamonds

If they are smaller but agressive northerns
1 Spinnerbait 3/4oz white
2 Cotton Cordell Ripplin Redfin silver or green
3 #5 mepps silver

If the fish are big but sluggish
1 4" tube baits (try to closely match the water colour)
2 Mepps #5 silver

Topwater
BIggest Rapala Skitterpop (i have nailed a ton of pike on these topwater lures....brown frog pattern)
Largest Hula Popper (white, black and charteause have worked great for me)

Walleye:

Cotton Cordell Ripplin redfin silver
CC Walleye diver
CC Walleye demon (if you can find it)
Rapala Shad Rap
Worm harnesses
Jigs (good selection of 1/16- 1/2oz) + twister tails (1 1/2-3")
