I'm looking for an ultra-lite rod and reel for those days I feel like a little pan fishing.
I'm located in hamilton but can travel to pick up

I know this doesn't help with a used one, but I was able to pick up a nice UL setup from sail for under $100, Daiwa rod, and Daiwa reel.

You can get a Bass Pro shop UL fiber glass rod for 25.00, they are a blast to fish!

Depending on your budget there are a hundreds of different options for you! Whether you decide to go used or new, you won't be disappointed. I have $500+ setups but I prefer an old Ugly Stick UL combo that I've have for over a decade that I love to use and its held up remarkably well. They are easy to come by (Walmart, Bass Pro, Sail, Cabela's etc.) and you don't have to lay out a fortune just to have a little fun. Want a real rush? Spend a little extra and make sure you get a reel with a smooth drag, fill your spool with some heavier line and chase some larger game fish. Its a great way to learn how to fight fish and adjust your equipment to the situation! Tight lines!

Thanks! I have always spent money on my heavier setups. The smooth drag is what I definitely need as I have always used the cheap 9.99 rod and reel fthat goes on sale at canadian tire for pan fish. Lol I have always gotten what I paid for as the break within a season. I'll give that a go his year and try and pull in a carp on the smaller setup

I try not to go above the line rating for my gear, my UL is rated for 1-4lb line, so I spooled up with 4lb. also helps with any warranty claims if you happen to break a rod
