I just started fishing in this extremely weedy area.( from the shore ) I was just wondering what lures, plastics or other things I could use in these weed filled areas. I'm aiming mostly for bass and pike.

If anyone could give me some tip and pointers that would be awesome.

posted it in wrong section sorry

Spinnerbaits (the kind with a V shaped wire, with spinner blades at top and a jig with skirts at the bottom) are the most "snag-free" underwater lures (without any weed guard).
Topwater frogs (or any top water bait with hidden hooks) will also be weedless.
Texas rigged worms are weedless.

Weedless spoons, jigs, etc would also work. Beware that anything thats "weedless" will decrease your hookups a bit.

Some people like to rip through weeds with a lipless crankbait. How well this will go depends on the type of weed, amount of weed, hook size, line strength, etc.

If the "weeds" you speak of are just on the top of the water, then there shouldnt be much to worry about. If its choking up the entire shore, from bottom to surface, there isnt much you can do unless you buy a weedless lure. If its on the bottom, but its not reaching the surface, you can try to manipulate lures right on top of the weeds (I do this with spoons and spinners).

Oh, and dont use live bait in heavy weed infested areas.
