Was thinking of heading up to a West trib on Tuesday. Looking at the river levels for the Ma*t*a*d river, they were coming down.

For those who have fished it before (closer to the mouth/foot bridge), is 2'ish meters considered fishable? Seems like you'd have to have a super long leader to get down to the bottom to present bait at those levels?

I went a week ago, (without looking at the levels before I went, bad mistake).. and the water was perfect for surfing or swimming, and if you needed a refreshment, just had to dip a straw into the chocolate milky water... <_<

Thanks!

Look at a longer period of the graph. Usually somewhere between base flow(the lowest it gets) and what the level you were at last week, is best fishing for most rivers. When you catch it "on the drop" fishing can be the best

On this board, West Trib refers to a Lake Ontario trib west of Toronto. All Lake Huron tribs are just referred to as Huron Tribs.

The water levels are deceiving since they represent only one point in the river. The spot you're referring to is a long way away from where the level is measured, and it definitely isn't 2m deep there. It's definitely fishable right now. If you're at the bridge, head up there and take a look around. The deeper parts are very visible from up there.
