ya ive used those i hav some left from last year there brown with the green tip 4"worms i tried them late in the season not much luck but i use a 1/0 worm hook instead of a jig head and u can get weighted hooks or u can use a split shot on the line if u want a quicker drop or a slow drop
Good idea! I like a shakey head jig, because with a floating worm, it allows my worm to stand vertical off the bottom. It's different then what most fish see so they smash it.

and u can save ur jigheads for some tube jigs
I've got a few tube jigs, not a big tube fisher, though that will change this season!

My first instinct is to work a frog through whatever I'm fishing. After that I usually start going for a spoon or crankbait.
frogs are a definite classic and always will be i hav just had great luck with soft plastics

Like any Fishing,

Knowing your water, being aware of the timing ... and understanding conditions is the foremost key to success.
The equipment is secondary to EXPERIENCE.

_______________

Live baits:

- Frogs
- Worms
- Minnows
- Crayfish (Small Mouth)

Lures:

- Rapalas (Husky Jerks)
- Mepps (Spinners)
- Senkos (Plastics)

Drop-shot rig tipped with a worm or minnow works very well for me. I also use poppers and top-water lures quite frequently, as bass often feed by the surface.

Like I said I spend lots of time on the water. Once you find them keep track of what you use and when and remember what you did in a past situations to catch them. Fishing isn't really that hard, it takes time and knowledge to consistently go out and catch them and if your lucky find the big ones. Cover and structure are your friend its been said a million times before for a reason. I fish windy, rainy days or high noon 30 deg celcius in the dead of summer or at midnight I always find fish, sometimes more than others, sometimes bigger than others. You'll be catching the big ones soon enough I hope - Good luck!
