What Kind Of Fish Is This?

Any idea what kind of fish this is? My guess is a grass carp or golden shiner.

Buddy without a single doubt in my mind that is a mooneye! What a catch you must of been fishing the grand! Those are quite the rare fish. Where those are more abundant people fly fish for those actually!

Gizzard Shad for sure. If you look closely, you can see the thin filament on that dorsal fin (like the filament in Tarpon). The dorsal fin is also above the pelvic fins in the Gizzard Shad as it is for your fish.

In Mooneye, the dorsal fin is set further back and it is positioned above the anal fin. Mooneye also does not have that dorsal filament.
