As I begin to remember how much I enjoy this time of year, whether it be largemouth or smallmouth what rods are in your rod locker? Ive had the privilege of being able to fish a variety of gear and have built my go to 11. After having 4 rods (3 reels) stolen from my boat earlier in the season I have grown to appreciate these rods even more.

In the past I have had more, and I have had less in the locker but these 11 are my current sticks to cover the fishing Im doing.

Spinning

G loomis E6x 6'10 dsr- I have a 3000 size stradic ci4+ on this rod normally spooled with 6-8lb seaguar tatsu. I will throw drop shots, tubes and spy baits on this setup.

Fenwick HMG 6'8 medium light- I have a 2500 size stradic ci4+ on this rod which is currently spooled with 15lb Power pro super slick. I will do a few things with this rod; wacky rigs, weightless flukes, tubes and occasionally light shallow drop shots.

Shimano Sellus 7' medium- I have a 2500 size diawa legalis on this rod with 8-10lb pline voltage copolymer. This is my jerkbait rod, both shallow and deep. I prefer throwing jerkbaits on spinning because they allow me a further cast and my wrists don't feel like a 16 year old boys after finding his dads nudie-mag stash.

Fenwick HMG 7'6 light- I am currently between reels on this rod, either a 2500 diawa legalis with 4-6lb sunline fc sniper flouro or a shimano stradic 1000 with 12lb seaguar kanzen braid. This rod is a finesse smallmouth fishermans dream, It currently is my spybait rod but I will glide a doll hair jig or swim a micro swimbait on this rod.

Casting

G loomis E6x 7' medium moderate cbr- I have a Lews bb1 5.1:1 on this rod with 12lb berkley trilene xl flourocarbon. This is my generally purpose crankbait rod, I find it enough stick to throw squarebills or open water cranks effectively. I have thrown up to a strike king 5xd on it but I would not make a habit of doing so.

Fenwick Aetos 7'6 medium heavy moderate dcbr- I have a Shimano calcutta 200d 5.6:1 on this rod with 15lb seaguar invis x flourocarbon. This is both my deep cranking, carolina rig and A-rig rod in its current setup (makes an awesome chatterbait rod with 40lb braid). It will normally have a 5/6xd tied on but recently the alabama rig has made a reassurance in my starting line up. When they dont want to chase a bait this rod becomes my carolina rig rod and I can work her sloooowww.

Fenwick HMG 7' Medium heavy fast- I have a Shimano caenan 6.4:1 gear ratio on this rod with 30lb Power pro superslick. This is my skirt/rattle rod, I throw spinners baits, buzz baits and lipless cranks on this rod and it handles it well.

Fenwick HMG 7' Medium heavy fast- I have a Shimano caenan 6.4:1 gear ratio on this rod with 50lb Power pro super slick. A carbon copy of the setup above, this rod is my jig and texas rig rod. I am currently throwing a chatterbait on it as well but it is not my ideal setup.

Abu Garcia Vendetta 7' Medium heavy fast- I have a Shimano caenan 6.4:1 gear ratio on this rod with 15lb Pline voltage copolymer. This is strictly a topwater rod for me, I throw mostly walking baits and poppers on it but occasionally a wake bait or buzz bait finds its way onto the end of my line.

Simax Loca 7'6 Heavy extra fast- I have a Quantum kvd tour 7.1:1 gear ratio on this rod with 65lb Power pro superslick. This is the meat stick, the flippin stick sees texas rigs, punch rigs and occasionally a jig.

G loomis The Frog rod 7'1 Heavy fast- I have an Ardent Inshore edge pro 7.1:1 gear ratio on this rod with 60lb seaguar kanzen braid. Its a frog rod, nothing more- nothing less.

So, lets see what you guys are fishing! If you have any questions on why I choose certain rods for certain things feel free to ask those as well!

Stay tight.

My workhorse casting rod is a St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass 6'8 MH with a Shimano Chronarch ci4+ 7.6:1 and 30lb braid. Great all around rod, Texas rigs, jigs, even frogs in tight cover. Makes a great pitching rod as well.

I have a Chronarch 51e without a rod yet ( awesome reel BTW) and a Daiwa Tatula on a Rapala TS2 7' MH spinnerbait rod as backup. I'm looking to upgrade the rod in the near future.

For spinning, my favorite is an St. Croix Avid 7' ML with a Daiwa Ballistic 2500SH and 8lb Power Pro. I also have an Avid 6'6 M/F with a Stradic 3000FJ and 12lb Sufix 832. These are great for tubes, dropshotting and topwaters.

I'm still waiting for my cranking rod to get here, maybe I can put the Chronarch 51e on it, or get one of the 13 fishing concept reels for it.
