Im tired of these sliding rings. They are sketchy and no matter how hard i squeeze them on, and use tape, they always wobble. Almost lost my reel AGAIN today lol

Can anyone help me find a good place to build a custom reel seat in the GTA for my raven IM8?

tons of maker out there. just wont cost you under 200. labour and seat. imo sell your im8, that money you were going to spend on custom seat buy the im8 with custom seat. cause those customs seats that makers use are not cheaply made. regardless 100 for a labour. not worth it.

damn, had no idea it was so much! ... ill stick with the sliding rings. Would rather spend that money on new waders :p

just sell it for 180, and get a deal on a seated, you will be out 50 but well worth it. not really sure why is your reel coming out.should be pretty snug with enough tape.

sounds like you need to tape your reel first to the cork then slide the rings on and then a little tape on the rings, it will never move and definitely never fall off

even some of the high quality rods will strip pieces of the cork with tape on them if you ever need to take the tape off.
best off following what Klik suggested, down 50$ for a better quality of life

although new waders are also a nice quality of life thing too ;)

Angling Specialties will install a new reel seat. The main challenge is twofold IMO. 1) The blank runs through the handle and reel seat. 2) The handle and seat are installed after the guides many times, so the current handle (or parts of) will have to be cut away and the new parts installed. The join between the new reel seat and the handle may not be cosmetically perfect in the new version - but it might be. I can't imagine it will cost $200. The parts will cost only $50 or $60 I think. Ask for George at the Highway #7 store.
I have had two cork handle sections removed and replaced (reel seat intact) and it was only about $40 each time (although cork is not that expensive).
