Hey all,

First post on here. Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say.

Some friends and I are looking to take a 4-5 day fishing trip up north in mid-late august. We are hoping for some trophy pike action with a side of bass. The pike is the real focus though.

We are willing to drive up to 8 hours from the gta. We are also from Parry Sound on georgian bay so we are looking further north than that.

Right now we are thinking: french river, lake temagami, lake kipawa or anywhere in that range that people have had good results. We are also willing to hit larger rivers if people have done well.

Thanks in advance!

Go far far up north, past algonquin park. Not too familiar with lakes up that way but if I was willing to drive 8 hours for fishing I would definately be driving in that direction.

Yea, thats sort of the plan. I was hoping someone would have taken a trip up there before. Doesn't seem to be much in reply though.

I'll post an update when I go.

i used to live in pembroke below the nuclear station at deep river. excellent pike, bass, walleye fishing. there are large channel catfish and ocaissonally a sturgeon will grab your jig. the short turn at the lower end of lac allumette and the chain of islands in front of the petawawa yacht club are local favorites also round bay near the #41 bridge into Quebec just south of pembroke.

The Moon River and the Pickeral aren't good enough? Yes the French is great. Temagami is fantastic for both Bass and Pike. I personally love the Temagami area. I have caught some big fish there over the years.

I just booked a trip up to the French River last week. I'll be going August 18th and staying at Wolesley Lodge. Chuckles is right though, availablity is very tight. When I booked they only had 2 spots in August left. Can't wait.

love Wollesley Lodge! Fished it years ago, incredible areas to fish, endless possibilities. We got walleye in all the rapids (Five Fingers etc), pike in all the pads and largemouth in every bay. Smallmouth up at Chaudierre (sp) and saw sturgeon up there too. You will love it!
