Thinking of heading there this weekend. Anyone been lately? (too early still?)

I heard J-13s, and Kwikfish are decent there? Cleo's work well there as well?

Wife had a blast with me last week at an East trib. Told her about the pool and shes quite excited to come along to be my net person.

They are there but not as much as there will be. They are jumping but everyone is getting skunked except at 11 pm ah layer when yhe water drops

from what ive heard first hand at the pool, people get there at 4am, and the fishing is good from 4am-8am....after that its dead. I got there once around 9...and NOTHING, same with others around me. While other dudes were leaving with 2/3 beautiful lakers/rainbows

Thanks fishing89. spoons and J-13s should work there though, right?

Drift big dirty skein chunks and you'll do good.
Ya, didn't want to use skein (don't have any either)... But when I eventually go hunting for steelhead, I will for sure.

A guy on a west trib last week was trying to convince me that it is illegal to use skein !!!!

If it was illegal to use skein what's stoping me from tying skein in to a roe bag and using it legally !!! There is no difference except prep time !! Some people hear a roomer and just run withit without even thinking about what they herd some one tell them

Well going to maybe try the pool Sat AM, then maybe an East or West trib Sun. A certain un-named East Trib was decent, and the salmon were just starting to jump, perhaps they will be in more #'s this wknd.

has anyone hooked a sturgeon while fishing for salmon with roe at the whirly pool?

I know people who have hooked them in devils hole

I still haven't had a chance to get to the pool yet. How long before the salmon are no longer there to be caught?

Salmon were jumping like crazy from 6am-8am on Saturday and it tapered off between 8am-9am. I had one follow my spoon all the way near the shore in the early hours only to turn back after seeing my headlamp. 0/0 outing but I think it was mainly because I did not know which stretch to fish and room was pretty tight. I was using a slip float setup for the first time so a bit of experimentation on my part.
