went down to the river today and fished for some silvers, put in about 3hrs total and caught and landed 5 fish.had a few short strikes which i missed as well.i was using a drop shot style rig but with a heavier sinker as the current in our river is really strong, hooked on a berkley finesse style minnow as my bait.my hook was a drop shot style i think size 2,not real big but not too small either.this setup seem to work ok.going to add some pics!

The Current (BIG WATER) of the DETROIT RIVER is a tough one to manage. (From shore)
Next to Niagara ..... some of the deepest and strongest runs in Ontario.

Well done

I grew up in Windsor , is that Assumption park....
If it is they totally redone the bike/walk path down there

Wow, so nice to see an actual photo of a silver/white bass that isn't a white perch. Their numbers really fell off in the Great Lakes as the zebra mussel took hold in the early 90s and turned everything topsy turvy. In the late 70s we would fish Port Dalhousie heavily as kids and catch over a hundred in no time, in May and again in August. Great to see your pics! What a fantastic, elegant fish!

There is a WHITE PERCH!!!!!! I always thought that whatever I caught was a white bass. Probably been wrong along... Oh well, that doesn't take the fun out of it. :)

lol! Yes, the white perch, an invasive from the Atlantic. Lacks the black broken stripping the silver bass has and that regal profile. Still fun!
