Hope others had a better day. I just got back been thru 5 storms today 1 on water:( never been so wet & tired. Seen a lot of Sh*t, boats hitting each other under a bridge to get away from the storm, smaller boats almost flipping due to ppl trying to get in too quick with their bigger motors causing wakes from each side. Just crazy! and after 7 hrs of fishing only 5 perch!

Way different then last week. even saw one poor guy fall into the water trying to pick up his boat.
On the way back we drove in 4 storms...just finished drying everything..I think I'm taking the next few weekends off and just wait for the walleye opener..

All I remember is the weather report saying this morning "feels like 26c" they were so wrong I was freezing even at 10am on the water!!!

How did everyone else do today?

Wow, Bigfisherman what lake were you on?
I didn't go out in the day today, but was out at 12am til around 3.

well, here in oakridges we had a high of 28degrees AND SUNNY! great weather, but it was so hot that i couldn't go outside without sweating, this weather lasted till five, at quarter past five i ended up having to bike ride 2 kilometres in pouring rain and hail, getting chased by lightning and see three trees torn down, shit i was half dead by the time i got home, but other than the last bit i had an amazing day and found a stream that was writhing with big smelts

It was definatly something fearce...I was out at the humber, nice day on the river but windy...WE(my wife and me) made it back just before the storm hit!! Lucky. Dark skies and wind was howling, but no real damage on my street. although my moms neighbore roof blow off...that sucks. But atleast she was sparred.

Today is some intense fishing experience.......went fishing with my bro at lake wilcox...got on the boat at 10am in the morning....the weather was excellent. Caught one crappie and 2 bass (unintentionally).....wind started to pick up around 4......so i decided to hit the shore, but the ANCHOR GOT STUCK on something in the water, took about half hour to get it out. When we get to the boat launch......Just right when i hop out of the boat, a tornado appeared at south west of the lake and it was coming towards the launch.....literally 2sec after....the tornado hit our spot.....everything was blow away.....LOST MY FAVORITE HAT! :p .....my boat almost flip upside down with all my fishing gears in it....lucky i was holding the rope tied up to the boat....or else it would be destroyed.....that was scary.......imagine if we were still on the boat in the middle of the lake....... 8) ......after an hour.....my boat was filled with water.......basically sank to the bottom with all my rods and reels. sigh.....took us 2 hours to get everything ready to go home......dead tired...... :p not worth going at all.......almost die....lol

my advice to all...watch the weather reports...when the weather is gonna jump15+degrees....and afternoon thunderstorms with severe wind gusts followed by a drastic 15 degree drop in temp the next 12 hours has been forecasted 3 days in advance for crying out loud stay off the lakes this time of year....remember the body of water you are on is still very cold and affects wind building conditions...but worst of all its the last place you want to get dumped in....hypothermia is not your friend....a large body of water can also have its own weather exclusive to its surroundings....ie toronto islands is always 5 to 7 degrees colder this time of year than the harbourfront at the ferry docks...you must always have warm clothing in a backpack with you around lakes this time of year....
if you get sick.... no fishing....definitely no fun....i am only being this serious cause i do not want to read that one of our members is lost to a storm on a lake...a tragedy that is preventable....please be careful...and wear your life jackets in the boat on the lakes....i can swim better than 99.9% of north americans but i always wear my life jacket
in boats or canoes...i owe that to my family and friends...so do you.

Didn't manage to get out there today but I can just imagine the mess it was out on the water, I was at home trying to keep the lawn furnature from flying away. As for taking a few weekends off don't let one bad day spoil this prime fishing time. Walleye opens next weekend and I can not wait 8) Going to start fishing at midnight sat morning and going to keep fishing till sun night.(I will spend some of the time eating and trying to sleep. :p MAYBE)

that was crazy jackie! And tangledline, your advice is probably as good as it gets. Thanks.

Sorry to see that Jackie. Glad you made it back to shore.

Thanks for the advice tangledline, I grew up on the water but still wear my pfd in these cold temps.

Lesson learned. What made it more hectic was all the other boaters.

I saw the forecasted thunderstorms for Saturday afternoon in Orillia, so I headed west to Dunnville. It was windy when we got out there at 9am, and it picked up at 4pm when we left. We left at teh right time because about 30 minutes after we started driving home, the sky turned black and thunderstorm hit us hard. By the time I got home, I had to run the bilge pump for about 10 minutes to get rid of all teh water.

I am glad to hear that everyone is safe, and please remember to be safe out there on the water.

OMG Jackie...that is insane. I'm glad everyone is okay.
I was in the car when the big storm hit...gusts of 100kph winds were blowing people over...debris was flying everywhere... probably the worst i've seen all my life. I can only imagine what it would've been like on the water! 8)

Dude I came seconds away from drowning in that CRAP, Frig scariesty crap I've ever been in! EVER!

This storm was deceiving...came straight out of no where!
makes me worried about taking canoe out in big open water when something like that can hit.

It did hit in seconds, sky turned clouds dropped and that was it just a wall heading your way nothing u can do.

Litteraly caught in the middle holly flip man holly flip!

I was out in my boat on Rice but had to turn around. Too bad because I was just on my way to a nice bed. This was just the start of it on Saturday night. Got much worse.

Weird... I don't even see it in first reports section.

Good luck today anyways... I think you mentioned you were gonna head out.
