I fish Wilcox all the time

I do live in Aurora, that's why I said it's 5/8 minutes down the road from me. I live just off of Bayview Ave.

Oh... I didn't look at the map too closely... Have you ever fished it?

EDIT: I just read my E-Mail (2 Days Old) and got a "Daily Post Update" from here. It had your Original Post in there. You originally said "Orillia" then edited it to "Newmarket/Aurora".

Sneaky Little Devil!!!
I wasn't sure... I guessed then checked on your profile! :D The wonderful things of the interwebs!

if you guys are fishing wilcox, bond lake is 1000x better. I live about 10 min away and have fished bond from shore over 10 years in the summer. In the early days, pike would be fat, and about 2 feet. Me and my dad would grab about 4 within a few hours. Now, the lake is becoming more popular and people are taking the young pike home...the ones i catch now are young 1 footers, fairly plump though. Bond is great for pike, and only pike. Has a tiny bit of hand sized catfish, and a small amount of hand sized SM bass...but only in certain areas. Ill be heading out there in early may, if anyone wants to come with, id be more than happy to show the hot spots, be ready for a walk though !!

Maybe we can meet up at some time. Where's the parking spot at bond lake? i'm targeting pike just before it closes.

its at a sales office for lebovic homes, its a brand new traffic light they built for it too. Ill pm you a map and where to park. I checked it out yesterday, still frozen, but ice is weak. I was once talking with a guy who fished bond for over 30 years, says back in the day, he would go 3-5 feet out, drill a small hole and bring in a few pike on just worms !

i started fishing lake wilcox off a canoe a few years ago and its a pretty productive lake. definitely not alot of keepers but it has some. i was using pumpkin colored tubes once and i caught 2 pike over the 18 inch mark and a few "ouncer" bass and this crappie around the 9 inch mark after 2 hours of fishing. once my brother caught a small carp off the shore from a worm. largest pike i caught there was 23 inches which was on a perch colored spinner. a great lake to spend some time on a weekday after work when you dont want to drive too much. i find weekdays are better than weekends because the beach gets overly crowded with people and its hard to launch a canoe. please practice catch and release on this lake because small lakes like these can easily be overfished.

This are the only two pics i could find, but i catch pike like this almost EVERY time I go to bond, usually 2-3 pike within a few hours, same lure too :p

Those are some nice pikes for a small lake like bond! are there any access points to it though? i thought that the whole thing was covered by residential land :???:

I know Wilcox is ok because we called the MNR there this winter. The handed out fines for no licences but that was it. We talked to them for a half hour about how the fishing was there and the state of the lake
