have never come so close to being toast.

I mean min if not seconds away from drowning.

That storm yesterday 115km winds we got stuck crossing a lake in that.

It hit instant all we felt was really hot wind then really cold wind repeat over and over that was freakin me out.

We decided to call it a day get back while we can. Green sky, and clouds were just falling to the ground crazy!

Then all u c is just a wall of white heading our way.

We could barley keep going straight so bro turned us back around follow the wind and back down the far side of the lake right across open patch huge waves washing right over the canoe.

At one point I had no idea how far land was u just couldn't see. The canoe was filling with water faster than I could bail it motor going full till we aint moving.
"trolling motor on a canoe"
Last wave hits and over we go the canoe is just to loaded with water battery just took it straight down,

Trolling motor, canoe, battery, paddles, life jackets, my new shoes "can't swim with them on", 1 whole tackle boxes my bros gone. mine smashed against the rocks and lost about 30-40 rapals a whole shelf.

Found the fish finder floating smashing against shore, phone, camera clothes, my BUDS arrgg.

So now we have no shoes soaked going hypothermic on the far side of a lake with no one around and we aint supposed to be home for another 4-5 hours and phone is done.

We said frig it went back in grabbed as much as we could piled in on shore.

Went for a hard as hell hike thorough swamp bush ukkk and yes no freaking shoes either and soaked.

When we finally got back to the car I can honestly say I could not bend over I was stiff as a board.

Loaded what we could stripped down and went home.

I have never in all my wildest craziest things I've done come even remotely close to what I went through Saturday.

we were within seconds of just done!

The absolute worst scariest part is when u are in the water swimmin for it freezing like needles pokin ya and then all of a sudden u get warm that feeling is the scariest.

U know u shouldn't be feeling warm but everything is nice, swim harder and get to land now!

The life jackets float away far too freakin fast so wear em from now on I say!

God dam we came close too flippin close!

P.S lake Eugina is open year round for torut check the regs!

And saw about 10 Conservation officers stopping cars at 10/89 good to see.

Lost all lot of stuff so much stuff I placed everything in a card board box "yes it fit in a card board box thats sad"

I didn't want to know what was gone just braught it back to the city will go over everything one day this week.

Good news is the fish finder being on it's maiden voyage survived being submerged and bashing along the shoreline turned on right away impressed, Bonus. Trolling motor floated a little just enough to save it later the mini kota or kita, so that was salvaged if it works no clue,

Battery and canoe gone to the bottom, Sorry for poluting I really don't ever I just couldn't help it sorry.

All along I always figured if the canoe goes down no worries it'll float NOPE!

Holy Sh*T, glad your ok, what lake where u at?

If you need help trying to salvage the canoe let me know. Maybe grabbing it via an anchor might pull it up? My father in law once was able to pull up an outboard in 10-15ft with an anchor.

You're a lucky dude... I'm sorry about all the lost gear... Better to be alive though.
Do you think that if you went back out on a calm day with a boat, you can retrieve your canoe at least? That's if you remember where it went down.

If that were to happen to myself, I would probably be too traumatized to step into a canoe/boat for a while. Knowing that your life could've been over from what happened.

I always have my pfd on... unless i'm on a more stable, wider boat, i may take if off it gets too hot.

Once again, glad you're okay man. What a story though!

I do know roughly where it went down but it's deep and I can't see how but I feel right bad about the battery to tell u the truth.

I hear ya Sunday I was thinking the same dam thing so pulled out another canoe old thing, and went out on the pond playing around just so no fear developed.

Some Eugina info:

Max depth 37ft, Average depth 10ft, bays are 6ft. Deepest part is the main bay!

WOW man......that's Scary.......sorry about all the things you lost. but at least you made it back alive.......Remember one thing dude....never take you life jacket off when you are on a boat.....not worth risking you life man....
But once again....glad that you're ok....
