Hey all, I've been new to float fishing this season and have only stuck to roe thus far (comfort zone)

The other day a guy on the same trib was getting hook ups a fair bit more then I did and I noticed he was using a pink worm.
he was too far for me to see how exactly how he had it set up and I couldn't cross the water to go talk to him at that time
I'm not one to constantly re-rig stuff till I get a hit as I usually only got a couple hours here and there and stick with what I set out with.

My question to all you veterans out there is how do you usually set up a pink worm for float fishing?
I've checked "youtube" and "google" but I see a lot of guys feeding stuff through the worm or some other stuff that looks overly complicated to me...

cant I just put it on a jig at the end of my leader? or is there some trick?
I'd like to know how you all do it as it seems like something I want to try next time
I love roe but it'd be nice to try something new and expand my toolset
I feel like im over thinking it a bit but none the less id like to hear details from a more seasoned angler lol

Cheers and thanks for any advice

i wacky rig mine, some thread it on texas style. what i tried recently was pretty good in terms of fish caught. i tied my setup as usual and put an orange bead and left it freely so it just slid from hook till the first weight, i then tied on the hook and threaded a pink worm texas style. when it was all set it looks like a big jig or a worm attacking an egg. ill post pics if i get them off my phone

Just Use them in place of a.roe bag. Hoof them once through the middle
I was hoping a simple approach like this would work, all the other stuff I see seems like a pain to have to do on the bank.
thanks for the replies

I just replace the roe bag with the worm.
I find I also need to hold back my float slightly to keep the pinky downstream of my float

thats pretty much a wacky rig, they work great cuz the worm looks like its wiggling in the current

Some worms are more buoyant than others You may have to add a little bit of shot to get it down all the way. Cold temps = artificials or the nastiest, gooiest, stinkiest egg sacs you can get your hands on. Pink is hottttt

I need to work on this. I need to make sure my float doesnt pass my worm when drifting

you will have to hold back your float if you're drifting...specially when using berkeley pinkies i believe they are floating...when temps are really cold. i go bigger...and I do have a 10 mm bead 4 inches above a pinky for added visuals and serve as a weight...but i use real crawlers more than the pink worms...so far works really good. I actually able to get drawbacks to bite as well...

like some have already said the set up is like that of a roe bag but what I do a little different is, I'll start the hook in about 1/3rd of the way down from the head and thread it through till it comes out almost through the top of the head so it looks like the worm is sitting upside down
