OK so I eat the Roe out of yellow perch, I batter it up and deep fry it and eat it along with the meat. Now some people I fish with, look at me like I have 3 eyes when I tell them I eat the Roe. So my queston is anyone else eat the Roe as well??

I have alway thought to myself.
I am taking a female that is about to or getting ready to spawn so I better eat as much of the fish as I can.

And ya Chris does taste good. The Roe from the perch yesterday was good. Later in the year the roe does get alittle fishy flav to it. But I like battering it and deep fry.

And to ever-one else how eats perch, try it. whats the worst that can happen, you do not like the flav??

what do you think caviar is? or those tiny eggs they put on sushi rolls? not saying they are perch, but they are fish eggs. there are ways of preparing it without deep frying it. keep in mind, most the toxins in any given fish are in the fat. nutrition that baby fish get within the eggs are also fat.

Unfertilized ova for the win! Tried it many moons and didn't like it, not to eggstatic to try it again.

ive had sturgeon caviar and salmon caviar, they taste fine, i can't imagine salting perch roe though, haha, i ale the trip down to mentreal every year for sturgeon and sturgeon roe, its delicious not to mention if i were to buy 100 grams here, it would cost me a small fortune from a female sturgeon i get a big bucket, lol, not that i sell it or anything, just share with some friends.

Separate them apart, make sure they are all loose, wash, sprinkle little salt, let them sit for 1 hour, wash, drain, eat and enjoy. Bon Appetite.

If you have been to a Sushi restaurant, you know exactly what I mean..

wow i thought someone was using perch roe for trout lol, speaking of which i may try that  I've never tried perch caviar but I've had salmon and sturgeon and im not really a fish fan so it didn't sit too well for me

I eat the roe too...salt and pepper, dipped in eggs, deep fried...yum!

Also eat roe from white perch and white bass...pretty much similar.

Just don't get gar roe. ;-)
