Hey Guy's went out to youngs point for the walleye opener there. Opener is the friday after the Second saturday in may, this is for all dams , got the around 10:30 and people were already there waiting, i was told C.O's were giving tickets to guys who already had lines set up. not sure how true this was.

Weather was 9 felt like 2. not windy at all.

Gear: 7' rod/reel combo ugly Stick. line 14lb mono. i cant rememberwhat size hook with medium sized minnows (3"-5")

General Info on Youngs Point. its a Lock and dam south of Clear lake. which connects to Stony & upper stony lake. Good wallye and amazing Small mouth bass fishing, There is also Musky,Crappie, sunfish here.
Within 30 seconds of lines being in water guys were pulling them in. But due to the new slot sizes lots of eyes were going back into the drink. We put back at least 4.I like the new regs keeps the spawners in the water. went home with nothing because of slot sizes but well worth catching 30"ers. 5-6 lbs

thanks for the report, hope to see more interesting fishing reports from you.

Damn! I never seem to be able to catch the walleye at that spot! Nice job!

How is the release going though? Are you guys throwing them down for the 20ft plunge?

Cool, are you there often spranga?
Maybe I'll bump into you one of these days!

Was there during the day today, not so good. No walleyes caught, as a matter of fact, barely any fish caught besides sunfish, perch, and rock bass. I did see a couple of nice keepers that swam by right into the shallows, they looked at my offerings but didn't commit. I still refuse to use minnows there though...Also it was too bad that I left about an hour before it got dark. Will be back there in the near future though!

I did watch 3 smallmouths round up and attack bugs at the locks though. Was really awesome and just makes me look forward to bass opener.
