trout doesnt really matter what kind i am what you might call a trout bum but i will fish for pretty much anything with a fly

I like fishing for bass but I haven't caught many other species yet, I still think bass will remain one of my favourite fish to catch after I've caught more species though.

i love catching new species. Size doesn't matter much to me if its something new i like it. I was happy catching a goby the first time just cause it was new to me.. but now 500 goby's later they're not as much fun. As for my fav species small mouth bass with always be my fav. Jitterbugging for smallies at night in temagami with my dad and brothers is a good as fishing gets. Moon light reflecting off the quite calm lake, dead silence other than the clug clug clug of your jitterbug... the anticipation of waiting for a hit. THEN whammo!!!! nice old fatty sm bass. ITs simply the best!!
The excitement of a Trout has always done it for me, but a Smallie or a Pike on a Jitterbug or Popper at dawn or dusk is a very close second. I just love it when you hear the hit a split second before you feel the tug on your line and you see nothing because of the darkness.

Trout or Salmon here! coz it gives me an adrenalin rash when they make their first initial run! it's sooo powerful that will make your reel screaminnnnnn!!! soooo get ready fellow anglers!!!!! they're almost there!!! happy fish on!! and be safe!!!

Smallmouth/bass looks like the crowd favorite! Who doesn't like fighting bass! Thats the reason why my bass box is the biggest lol. I gotta give it to pike too, because they hit hard and have literally destroyed some of my favorite lures. Trout (resident or great lakes) get the nod too because they probably take the most leg work and reward me with an awesome aerobatics show when I finally hook into one!

I love when a Nice Pike hits the lure when you are real close to the shore or boat and you watch it happen. They get hooked and seem almost surprised like WTF is going on. They thrash their heads back and forth, just looks so awesome.

Raw power of a Steelhead on the line feels like none other, for me once upon a time ,a heavy Pike and Bass man, converted to Steel .
For the record I love fishing for all species , but when the fall chill is in the air , I crave for nothing but Steel .
The concentration of a float fisherman , drifting , hiking a long trail to find new water , fighting back the cold icy winds of December , fingers stinging , guides icing up.
I've gotta say, bring on the chill cause I've been waiting all summer for my favourite time of year , I AM A ..... STEELHEADER !!

" It's the most wonderful time of the year."
Headed out today, Chrome have been spotted in a nearby trib. No icy winds or frozen guides, but we saw them last week end and another OFF'er saw some on the same trib at a different location last week end. I am all giddy and my ride won't be here for another hour  .

I agree to that, I like to warm up with some salmon first though :)

browns all the way...and would give pike 2nd place in my heart. but once you go brown...

Whomever is willing to bite the end of my line is in my good books :)

But that being said, I'd have to say Smallmouth bass, or Channel cats.

Drop_shot, if I had to choose I would say smallmouth bass as well. Best pound for pound. Even though musky can be like that as well.
