I was looking at that reel recently myself, I don't own a float reel,
so I've been crawling kijiji and ebay and looking at different reels.
I've always used a light spinning reel spooled with 6#,
when I was in my mid 20's to early 30's I used a Hardy Marquis fly reel spooled with 6#
trilene XT Green, it was a lot of fun, but a lot of work too.
So I went back to the spinning outfit.
I'll grab my first pin at some point.
Looked at Raven and a couple of Okuma's
Sheffield and Raw, no decision yet, I prefer to handle things before a purchase.

It is all personal preference,i have Sheffield and it is very good reel., reason i bought it is it fits good in my hand. You have definitely to try it before you buy it.

used to be sold on ebay $50 delivered to your door.

light reels are good if you have a very light rod. if you have the new heavier IM rods, it will be hard to balance the rod as much. looks good for light or ultra light trout rods though.

I saw that thing a few days ago and my first thought was "what the hell is this thing?" Lol. I've been on kijiji every morning for the past two weeks, so i have about all the float fishing stuff memorised hahaha.

might be a good pair with the new streamside tranquility rods, 13ft IM8 weighs in at 165grams

not sure how light that is. but with my raven 13 im8 would be very unbalanced. i dont even think islander steelheader is heavy enough for my rod.

wow that is one light rod. mine is 300 grams. then yeah, should be a good balanced rod and reel.

dont want to hijack the topic, but do you wear your wader tight? have a heavy vest/vest in general? or bad seated posture all the time? cause i worked out a lot and sit behind the computer too much, and i have very tense upper back most the time, that is why i wear my wader straps loose, and changed from a vest to waist pouch. or my upper body starts burning and my arm goes to sleep, while i get cramps under my rod arm's shoulder blade. no i am fine, i can fish 9 hours straight np.

I do it that way too I just couldnt think of a word that would dscribe that kind of drag application. Fingering? lol
