Same situation, different year ( 6th consecutive year now? ). Will be meeting at the Toronto Street parking lot of the Samuel Wilmot Conservation Area in Newcastle on Saturday November 5 for the annual clean up at 9 am. We will clean up garbage from two main spots on the river. Gloves, bags and water will be provided. No heavy lifting required as we will have a handful of beer bellied, semi muscular fisherfolks to do the heavy hauling part of things. Clean up takes approximately 3 hours ( we usually finish by noon ) Highschool volunteer hours can be signed off. Prefishing and post clean fishing between members always happens so its a great way to meet new people and talk all things fishing.

Any questions please post here or PM.

Lets help keep our waterways clean and pristine :)

That's quite the haul of salmon in that pic.
Reminds me of the old pics before limits introduced. lol

Certainly not making light of the cause Trout.
I'm from Hamilton and only stopped there once.
Off the 401.
Couldn't believe how small this section is. lol
But as per work schedule I'm off and will lend a hand.

Bags of salmon... its bags of roe - the fish we dumped behind the tracks ;)

Looking forward to meeting everyone

We've got some sweet weather coming our way and this upcoming rain will put some fresh fish into the water :D

Its on tomorrow folks - look forward to meeting you all tomorrow, and seeing old faces again :)

Thanks for organizing event. Was good to put a few faces to names, good to see not a lot of garbage but we did our part to help out. Too bad the water was so low and clear with few fish but can't get it all.

Thanks to all who made it out - we were blessed with a fairly clean creek. Good laughs, good company and awesome stories to be heard. Those water levels though

Weather was perfect.
Creek spotless now.
Left about 60 beer cans at parking lot though.

...and then we drove home

Yeah they had a clean up a week before and looks like they hit the river as well. Typically they only do the paths but this year is different... which is bad news because if they did the river... ohhh my they aint happy.
