    baitcaster virgin

I'm in the same boat as you. Popping my baitcasting cherry this year. After doing a lot of reading and comparisons I settled on an Abu Garcia Veritas MH rod with a Revo S reel. The rod ran me around $70 on sale and I picked up the Revo S during BP's spring classic for $129. Haven't had a...

    Fishing in Florida 2013!

$600 for the day for 8 people is really good. Unfortunately it will just be my girlfriend and I don't have other people down there to get out with. That price, per person, would be ideal for me though. What do you mean by bringing some kind of protection? Ideally I'd like the charter to leave...

    Fishing in Florida 2013!

I'm going to be going down in October and I'd love to get out. I'll be down in Southwest Florida in Naples. There are a lot of charters that leave out of Naples but I'd be willing to go down to the Keys as well. What type of charter did you book? Is it a small group of you and a few people...

    Fishing in Florida 2013!

Where in Florida are you going? I spend a lot of time down there on the Gulf coast but I have never gone out there fishing while I was down. I know that the experience would totally be worth the cost but I find the charters a little expensive for me, being a young guy.

What is your most successfull rig for Bass and other fish.

Aside from top waters like my jitterbugs, poppers and frogs... I love senkos, either wacky style or texas rigged. I also had a lot of success last year just with Gulp minnows just hooked through the nose with the tip sticking out the back.

    Markham Pond Maps

Hey guys, I was driving around Markham yesterday and I came across a few bodies of water that looked interesting. I didn't see them on the maps in this thread so I took a screenshot from google. Just wondering if these are worth checking out or if they're a waste of time. I searched for...

    Your very first fish...what gear?

I was about 5 years old probably and I caught a little SMB on a 5'6" shimano rod with a Zebco Z33 spincast reel. (That reel is rock solid. Still have it kicking around to this day. Works/looks like brand new) Piece of corn on a hook with a small bobber. This was caught in a pond on a family...

got my first mystery tackle box

Definitely hollow. At least mine are.

got my first mystery tackle box

I bought some weighted tube jigs to use with the tubes that I bought last year. Didn't think of using the EWG hooks in the tubes. Using the EWG hooks in these hollow tubes might be pretty good. They'll be very lightweight and would skim across the surface, most likely. The ribs on them would...

got my first mystery tackle box

Yea, I'm definitely liking the craws. The tubes are hollow. I picked up some tubes last year but never got a chance to use them. They were solid though. What's the best way to rig these tubes?

got my first mystery tackle box

Got home today and mine was waiting for me. Literally got the exact same stuff as you this time around. Not a bad box. I don't really use or have any crankbaits like the one I got so it will be fun to use and try out. The plastics look pretty decent too.

got my first mystery tackle box

Damn! I didn't get mine today. Guess I'll have something nice waiting for me tomorrow when I get home. haha

got my first mystery tackle box

I'll throw up some pics right when I get it. It looks like it's going to be a race to see who receives theirs first. haha

Panfish @ Humber river mouth/Humber Bay Park East

Top water fishing and lululemons walking around? Sounds like a great time. I've never bothered fishing Grenadier but I may have to give it a go.

got my first mystery tackle box

Haha. It's the anticipation. Knowing that any day now I could get home after work and it could be waiting there for me. Fun to open up and see what's inside. Just like Christmas morning.

got my first mystery tackle box

I haven't received mine yet either. Just waiting patiently. Last month the 10th was on a Sunday so the boxes actually shipped out on Friday, the 8th. That being said, the new box should probably arrive any time between today and the end of the week.

    Fishing in the Forest City

You guys are like boys with toys. I'm going to have to side with Remy on this one though. At the end of the day it's about perserving the fish population. I don't think he was being a forum bully. His post seemed like a simple "FYI" or "Heads Up". Didn't sense any harshness to it at all...

    PRO Fishing Journal

Seems pretty cool. I'll download and check it out. I use iFish Ontario. It's a pretty good app as well. They also have a catch log but it is an additional $2.99 to unlock it. I feel like it should be included since the app is already around $5. Why should you have to pay more to track your own...

    Abu Garcia Veritas/Vendetta

I picked up a 6'9 veritas casting rod for this season. Haven't had the chance to test it out yet but it feels nice. As for the white, I kinda like it.

got my first mystery tackle box

I got the e-mail earlier today too. Looking forward to getting my box in the mail. I'm running out of room in my tackle box though. haha.
