    Fishing on a hot day

I'm going fishing with a buddy on Tuesday and the forecast is calling for some pretty high temperatures. I usually avoid fishing in that sort of heat; but sometimes you gotta fish whenever you get a chance. I was just wondering what works for you guys once the temperatures start to get high...

What is you Outdoors store of choice?

I've never even heard of Sail until I became a member here. I voted BPS; but would love to see what Sail is all about. Any locations in KW area?

Proper way to cast a fishing rod

Nice informative video. Even for those who are good casters.

    Should I be worried?

Great rod. Get lots of compliments on it as well.

    Should I be worried?

Lots of helpful feedback. Thanks everyone. I've fished the combo for a couple weeks now. All seems okay. Quite a few birds nests built up though so I'm even considering going up to 30lb test for a thicker line.

    Should I be worried?

Hey guys, just bought a new reel! Got the shimano Sedona. Can't wait to try it out. And also for the first time I got it spooled with braided line. Have been using mono my whole life. But after reading around here all summer, I'm taking the recommendation of many of you to fish with braid...

    Lake Nosbonsing

Thanks guys :) Was looking at that map earlier. Kind of confusing. I will be on the eastern side of the lake. Sunken island will be straight on out from where I am. I think it may be too far away for the boats I am limited to!

    Lake Nosbonsing

Anybody ever been? I am heading up there next week for about 4 days. Super excited for some good fishing. As a kid I would go up there and have many memories of catching multiple pike and walleye. I haven't been up for about 7 or 8 years now and was wondering if anyone knows how the fishing is...

Which of these 2 is the more impressive fish?

Both nice fish. But the pike takes the cake for me.

    Rockwood

So I went to rockwood conservation on Sunday afternoon. Man, that place is packed and really lacks in space to shore fish. There were people canoeing left right and centre - just way too much commotion for me to get any decent fishing done. Only caught about 4 tiny rock bass and a few tiny...

    Rockwood

Smallies are my favourite species to target. Plan on going to Belwood sooner than later when I get some time to invest. Single barbless is okay with me; I can still Texas rig my rubber baits fine :)

    Rockwood

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to try my luck by the dam there then. Would be really cool to land my first Rainbow Trout. I'll be sure to bring a few spinners. Not too much interest in pan fishing but I guess catching something is better than catching nothing. And if it's as beautiful as...

    Rockwood

Have been thinking of going out to Rockwood Conservation or in the general area to try some fishing. Have heard that there is some good fishing to be done there. Anyone have any success stories or non success stories? Or any general advice? Would like to hear them all before I head over. Thanks

    Hamilton Waterfront Trust Derby.

When we land a fish, are we required to bring it to the station in an aerator cooler or something?

    Hamilton Waterfront Trust Derby.

Cool. Lots of opportunity! So technically one person could win more than one category? ie. wins catfish biggest fish and predator biggest fish.. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Hamilton Waterfront Trust Derby.

Cool, I might go. Couldn't find any info on the species of fish that we would be looking to catch. Could you please provide additional info about the derby? Are there separate categories for each species? Thanks!

    Hot enough for you?

The YUM! Dinger has also brought me incredible success this year. Just finished my first package and it took about a month. Great value. High quality. Amazing to rig Texas style or wacky style. Highly recommend. Can't wait to try some different colours.

    Hot enough for you?

Depends on the conditions. But I prefer weightless whenever possible. How about you?
