    Caught an old lure

my dad had lures just like that but without the lip. we used them for pike when i lived in alberta over 15 years ago. haven't really seen much like it since. mid-post i decided to look them up and found them. they were called berkley powerbait lipless crankbaits. had amazing action and could...

    Hungry Steelie

Went out yesterday on a little guided centerpin lesson with Bryan from A Perfect Drift guide service. Had a blast and got into a few fish and definitely gained a lot of knowledge on reading the river. The 2nd fish of the day had another half digested fish stuck in its throat. Was pretty crazy!

Day off led to a great day out

Thanks guys. I've got a guided trip tomorrow on the same trib that I'm fired up for! I'll be hitting the river as much as possible and for as long as possible. I was getting frustrated being skunked so often and yesterday definitely restored some confidence and more enjoyment to the sport!

Day off led to a great day out

Had the day off and the gf was working so i decided to hit a gb river thats fairly close by. I had my best day numbers wise going 5/9 although the fish were all on the smaller side. Worms happened to be the go to bait of the day and after running out i hit a pretty beat up little buck on a pink...

    Rods when not in use

I spent the day thinking about it and thats the decision i decided to go with. I made my own little tackle tamer out of a little pvc pipe and face cloth. I made up 4 shot lines with leaders and 3 leaders on their own. Fits nicely into the waist pack along with the other gear. Thanks for the...

    Rods when not in use

Having some issues when breaking down my rod when i'm done fishing. Do you guys keep your shot lines and leaders attached when youre done fishing or does it all come off and get re-tied when fishing again. I have to experiment with the length of line out when i break my rod down so i can find a...

    Can't get trout to bite

They work great for aggressive fish. I first purchased a couple from centerpinangling.com. They swap the treble hook for a siwash which i have now done to a couple mepps and panther martins. You can trot you float through the pool to really get the blade spinning. I tend to work them about a...

    Can't get trout to bite

The only way to know if there are fish in a deeper pool is to fish it. Try to move your shot around and even your float depth. Try different baits plastics and flies in all different colours and sizes. If you feel youve tried everything on that pool move on. A lot of the time ill pick up a fish...

Float Fishing With A PIN,need help

Its much easier to cast with a heavier set up i find. I switched from 12 to 8 lb mainline and noticed a huge difference. I cant cast as far and get much more line twist. Same applies for your float and shot line - the more shot and bigger the float the easier it is to cast. I find on the notty...

    Closed section loophole

Technically yes it would be legal as long as you released the trout as quick as possible. (without removing it from the water for pics, etc) The chances you are really fishing for chubs is pretty small though and personally i would hold off until the river is open for catching other species...
