Does anybody use live minnows for steelhead in the tribs? If so, when would be a good time to use it?

    Day after the rain

Haha actually I don't like fishing in clear water because I tend to skip every hole (without knowing it) where I cant "see" a fish. With the cloudy water I try everywhere. I need to get it through my thick head the fact that because i don't see them doesn't mean they're not there! Awesome...

    Day after the rain

Headed out this morning before class and got to the creek around 715. Tossed my line in and float sinks! Set the hook, felt a few tugs and the hook came out. Tried drifting it again and halfway through the pool, fish on! Landed a nice chrome. Drifted a few more times, and got a few more hits...

    Quick question!

    Sticky Hands - Pin Reels

Happened to me before on my first day using a pin. But I had a bandage the finger I used for drag. I took off the bandage but the sticky residue had the same effect :-x . I'm guessing a wet pin or fingers (sweat maybe?) can increase the friction between your hand and the reel too, resulting in...

    Quick question!

Quick response! Wow! Thanks, so even if the water is only around 2-3 feet and I can see the bottom of the empty creek clearly, they could still be there? Hm... I guess I should work the whole creek even harder next time. :-D

    Quick question!

Hi all, Just a quick question since I am still new to this and still have a lot to learn. I noticed that some people walks by a pool and looks at it, then walks away. Also, I noticed that some people sit at a pool where they see one or two steelhead swimming around. My question is, if you...

    How did we do today??

Haha, I've been skunked enough times I'm used to it  but yes, I did explore new places and found more spots that I believe might hold steelies. Drifted my float over these areas for about 10-15 minutes then on to the next area that looked like it might hold some fish. So much more to...
